We all know the importance at the moment of maintaining a routine as far as we can. As well as the coronavirus other things have disrupted our family life recently. Traditionally, Chris must be present to help us open greeting cards and gifts. He’s not an early riser by any means but yesterday around 7.30am (almost unheard of for him) we sat enjoying a rare quiet moment. Chris wandered in bringing me a supposedly ‘hidden’ stash of birthday cards, saying ‘happy birthday, Ted”. Very gently we hugged him and said that it wasn’t my birthday. ‘Oh sorry, I haven’t got a body clock’, he said. Today, at 9 o’clock, my real birthday, we wait. Chris sleeps soundly!
